The founding fathers accomplished five important things:
1. They won the war between Brittain and the Colonies;
2. They established a nation size republic;
3. They established a secular nation;
4. They created a sovereignty "of the people;"
5. They created institutionalized political parties.
However, they failed to resolve three very important issues:
1. Address the slavery question (they postponed it for twenty years);
2. Address the status of native Americans, (although Washington & Madison tried);
3. Address the rights of women.
