President Scully called the meeting to order at 1:05pm. Due to time constraints on the part of the guest speaker, Dawn Addis, she was allowed to give her presentation at the beginning of the meeting. Patriot John Siler introduced Dawn Addis’s, who is the Democratic Candidate for the 35th Assembly District. This district covers all of San Luis Obispo County and extends to the northern part of Santa Barbara County. Dawn Addis’ background is in education and as a community organizer. At present, besides being a member of Morro Bay city council, Dawn is involved in the education and mentoring local teachers. Dawn’s campaign advocates for increased housing, clean water security, improved infrastructure and local jobs. Dawn distinguishes herself from her opponent by being more accessible and more proactive in creating economic and social opportunities.
Dawn Addis was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation.

Sunshine report: Daniel Friend is at home battling cancer. We all pass on our well-wishes for Dan.
Meeting was adjourned at 1:40pm
A General and lively discussion ensued covering everything from politics to the operation of electrical grids in the US. All had an opportunity to express their opinions and did so.

Sunshine Report : Daniel Friend is battling cancer and we wish him the best.
New Member : John Handy, retired Colonel and Army Engineer.
Guest Speaker – Victoria Huessen of Cambria was introduced and she is a county librarian at the Los Osos branch. Victoria encouraged everyone to obtain a power library card and take advantage of our local libraries. Victoria discussed the relevance of libraries in the digital age and pointed out that all matter of printed material ( newspapers, periodicals, hard copy best sellers etc.), audio visual, DVD/Blu Ray and gaming are available. Downloadables are also available. Global Road Warrior is a portal to travel sites. DMV driver license tests are on line. Computers and Wifi are available as are chromebooks. Children’s programs are ubiquitous.
Zip Books is a program whereby if you can find a title of a book on Amazon and it’s not currently available in the county library system, you can suggest it and your library may acquire it subject to budgetary constraints. The website is slolibrary.org. Victoria encouraged membership in Friends of the Library. A library assessment has also been proposed. Victoria’s presentation was much appreciated and she was presented a certificate.

New Business : Nomination of officers. Present board members offered to remain in their present positions ( Pres. Scully, V.P. Mummert, Treasurer Harris, Sec. Scrimiger and Registrar Haynes) and a motion (Scully) was made to retain them. Seconded (Tissue). Carried by acclamation.
Motion (Harris) to reimburse R Haynes $47.00 and Pres. Scully $84.00 for certificates, medal sets etc.
Seconded (Scrimiger). Carried.
Presentation of Military Service Medals and certificates to Dave Tissue, Chris Scrimiger and Bill Harris.
