Jerry Dale Evans Jerry Dale Evans was born in July 1940 in Mathiston, Miss., and passed away suddenly at home in Grover Beach on May 30, 2015. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He had lived in Grover Beach since 1962 serving on the Grover City Volunteer Fire Department as a fireman and fire chief. He retired from Cal-Trans after 26 years. He was a long time member of the CA State Employee Association (CSEA) having served as a job steward, regional director and as past president and vice president of Chapter 10. He was currently serving as District B Director of the CA State Retirees. He belonged to The Boy Scouts of America, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout in 1956. Jerry Dale was an avid Lionel train collector; loyal fan of the AGHS football team for 40 years. His favorite times were spent with family and friends. Jerry Dale is survived by his wife, Sharon, of 54 years; daughters: Shelly (Karl) Langwell, Alanna (Peter) Pence, and Alisa (Michael) Baker. Grandchildren: Kory and Sean Langwell, and Matthew, Meghan, Michael and Melanie Pence; brother, Ron Evans; sisters and brother-in-law: Marion (Rick) Wheeler, Allan (Patty) Marshall, and Kay Evans. He is also survived by numerous relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, L.T. Evans and Thelma Kinney and brother Thomas Evans. There will be a Celebration of Jerry's Life held on Sunday, June 7, at 2:00pm at St. Barnabas' Episcopal Church 301 Trinity Ave., Arroyo Grande, Calif.
