Attendance: 9 members
Sunshine Report: Daniel Friend will be unable to attend due to illness.
No guest speaker.
Secretary’s Report: Minutes for February 2019 read aloud. Corrections noted.
Treasurer’s Report: Current account balance $3833.12. Motion to accept (Scully), seconded (Tissue). Carried.
On the Elks outreach front, the Oceano Elks chapter will publish an ad promoting SAR membership in their publication. Thank you Elks.
Bill Crewe attended BSA Eagle Scout Court of Honor. Nate Maas has been involved with the Eagle Scout program since 2001. Our chapter issues a Certificate of Recognition and a patch if they enter the essay competition. The triple merit badges in Genealogy, Law and American Heritage are almost always required. Winners at the state level are awarded a trophy and $1000.00 to$1500.00. Competition is steep. The national winner receives $10,000.00.
Motion (Scully) Bill Crewe to contact Cal Poly ROTC in identifying their top cadets for SAR recognition. Seconded (Harris) Carried.
Dave Tissue was volunteered to be Flag Chairman. Dave will be asking for candidates for recognition who fly the flag and do it properly.
Ray Duquette a new member certificate for his grandson, Edward Johnson. Welcome Edward.
